EXTERNAL RELATIONS DEPARTMENT
The Department of External Relations is one of the structural units of the Northern University, which carries out its activities in accordance with the RA legislation, on the basis of the Charter of the Northern University and its charter, as well as on the decisions made by the management bodies of the university and the rector’s orders.
The main goal of the external relations department is to contribute to the university’s integration into global scientific and educational processes and programs, to the formation, expansion and coordination of issues related to the university and foreign scientific and educational institutions, foundations and international structures in the field of international cooperation.
The activities of the department of external relations are coordinated by the head of the department, who is appointed and dismissed by the order of the rector of the university.
Among the functions of the department are:
- to organize the negotiation processes of signing contracts and agreements with foreign educational institutions and scientific centers,
- organize events aimed at the development of external relations of the University: international round tables, conferences, seminars and discussions, university participation activities,
- to support the processes of organizing business trips of participants traveling abroad in order to participate in conferences within the framework of international scientific and educational programs, as well as within the framework of exchange programs, in other events arising from the interests of the university,
- to provide analysis and placement of information on external relations activities, as well as grant programs, on the university’s website (Facebook page) and in the university’s periodical,
- to inform university departments and students about international scientific and educational programs, grants and applications for scientific and educational programs offered by foreign universities,
- to prepare documents for the university’s participation in new international grant programs and to coordinate the ongoing implementation of already won grant programs,
- to ensure the exchange of official documents and conducting correspondence with the universities and scientific centers that are parties to international scientific and educational agreements, with the guarantee of the heads of the relevant departments of the university.

Participation in the development and implementation of the university’s internationalization and foreign relations policies. Development and implementation of international relations with foreign universities, international organizations and embassies/experience exchange programs within the framework of international programs. Coordination of Erasmus+ programs, coordination of incoming and outgoing mobility programs. Development of Erasmus+ capacity development programs/participation in Erasmus+ capacity development programs/cooperation with University departments. Coordination of additional courses of foreign languages. Coordination of education issues of foreign students. Organization and coordination of international conferences/trainings. Search for grants, preparation and implementation of programs.
